Rx Update - Site Of Care For Infusion Drug Therapy

We are continuously looking for ways to promote member convenience while lowering overall costs. The Site of Care (SOC) program provides outreach to patients receiving select infusion or injectable drugs at high-cost facilities and transitions these patients to home infusion or alternate sites of service (physician’s office, ambulatory infusion centers).

We are excited to introduce an enhancement to our SOC program called required SOC redirection. With this new program offering, if there is an opportunity for a member to use home infusion or a lower-cost facility, that member will be required to change their site of care. Required site of care redirection will only apply to commercial lines of business (see below).

  • Beginning on 10/1/24 on renewal, self-funded groups will automatically be enrolled in the voluntary SOC redirection program with the option of electing the required SOC redirection program.
  • Beginning on 1/1/25 on renewal, Minimum Premium, Article 47 groups will automatically be enrolled in the voluntary SOC redirection program with the option of electing the required SOC redirection program.
  • Beginning 1/1/25 on renewal, all fully insured groups will be automatically enrolled in required SOC redirection.

Please contact your account representative with questions. For more information read our Site of Care Brochure (PDF).
