In May 2026, an application was submitted to the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) requesting 2027 premium rate changes for Individual and Family Plans On/Off Exchange and Small Group products.
The following products are included in this 2027 rate filing:
- Individual and Family Plans
- Healthy NY EPO
- Univera Access
- Univera Healthcare HMO
Employer Group Information
Initial notification letters are being mailed to employer groups and members enrolled in the products listed above. The letter will include the percentage change in premium rates that we have requested in our application to NYSDFS. NYSDFS will review our proposal and will determine the final approved rates in the fall. Community rated employer groups and members enrolled in the products above will receive an Annual Rate Notice with their final, approved rates 60 days prior to their renewal date.
Broker Group Information
Beginning in early June you will receive an encrypted email notification with copies of the initial notification letters being sent to your groups. The encrypted emails* will expire if not read within the specified timeframe as indicated in your email notification.
Your groups will receive an annual rate notification with the actual, approved rates 60 days prior to their renewal date. The annual rate notices will be available to Brokers on Information Connection.
It’s important that the groups receive the notification and distribute the individual letters to their employees. They should also include any additional information explaining the rate changes that differ from the initial notification letters, such as the employer’s share of the premium or other employer/employee cost sharing.
