COVID-19 National Emergency And Federal Public Health Emergency To End May 11, 2023

The federal government announced the COVID-19 National Emergency and Federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) will end on May 11, 2023. Univera Healthcare has been reviewing the guidelines surrounding COVID-19 related vaccines, testing and telehealth services and is sharing details with you now, so you can answer any questions from your employer groups.

Current COVID-19 related benefits will be covered in full through May 11, 2023. After the PHE ends on May 11, the cost for COVID-19 related services for our employer groups will be based on the details of their current health plan benefits.

Note for self-insured groups: Once the PHE ends, self-insured group coverage for COVID-19 related services will revert to the pre COVID-19 coverage for same and similar services as outlined in their self-funded health plan coverage. If a self-insured group chooses to continue to cover COVID-19 related benefits after May 11, 2023, we will consider this a benefit change and require a plan amendment.

IMPORTANT: Review and share the following COVID Benefit Grid which includes the updates we will implement beginning May 12, 2023, in accordance with the end of the PHE. Please contact your Account Manager with any questions.
