Effective April 1, 2023, the MDLIVE claim cost for medical consults increased. The medical claim cost increased from $40.00 to $50.00 per MDLIVE visit, which is still 39% below the non-MDLIVE member price. This cost is also significantly below a telehealth visit with a local primary care physician.
Who Is Impacted?
Members who have a copay as their telemedicine benefit will not be impacted. Members whose plans have a deductible/co-insurance will see a slight increase to their cost share.
We still believe that MDLIVE is a convenient and cost-effective way to provide certain health care services to members. And we’re pleased with how efficient the program has been and will continue to be moving forward for our employer groups and their members.
